Mobile check-in and GPS lite
VisibleHours is Windows-first time tracking on company PCs. Mobile is a limited add-on: field people punch in or out from a phone browser at https://visiblehours.com/checkin. There is no iOS app, no Android app, and no App Store or Play Store listing — not a store app. GPS is optional browser geolocation on that punch only — a one-shot location share, not background tracking and not a live map. The Windows tray still does not log GPS.
Operations turns the policy on, can require GPS for a punch, and can set a named geofence. VisibleHours stores the punch and — if the employee shares coordinates — whether they were inside the site. The fence marks inside or outside. It does not block an outside punch and it does not follow a phone after the employee leaves. The mobile tip on the manager screen is a VisibleHours reading of your settings, not a live language model.
Public Search on this site stays here. It will not punch anyone in, set a geofence, open the signed-in Mobile / GPS screen, or invent a store listing. After you sign in, Ask “mobile”, “gps”, “location tracking”, “open mobile”, or “employee location” opens Mobile / GPS. Ask “open check-in” or “employee check-in” opens /checkin. - Send the employee notice first. Company Windows PCs keep the visible tray. A personal phone is never the agent surface.
- Turn mobile-web check-in on in Mobile / GPS. Off is the default for a new org.
- Optionally require GPS and set a site name, coordinates, and radius. GPS is still only on the punch the employee starts.
- Employees open /checkin, paste an invite code, and punch in or out in a browser.
- Managers see who is punched in from the last in / out — and the last location / inside-outside flag. That is not a live map.
What this is not
- Not on by default. A new org has mobile check-in off and no punches.
- Not live GPS tracking. A location is stored only on a punch. Ask “please track my phone” is refused.
- Not a store app. There is no iOS or Android build and no App Store or Play Store listing. Ask for a fake store listing is refused.
- Not a Windows GPS logger. The tray still does not collect location.
- Not silent phone tracking. Ask “secret GPS”, “track personal phones without notice”, or “always-on phone spyware” is refused.
- Not a live map. “Who is punched in” is last punch state. A geofence marks inside / outside at punch time only.
- Not the Windows agent reading a geofence. The shipped tray does not consume this policy. Company PCs still show the visible tray for apps and idle.
- Not outreach. VisibleHours does not email employees from this screen.
- Not a done-for-you punch. Public Search will not punch anyone in or track a phone.
